As Soft As It Gets: What Does Healing Require?
I've been healing cancer -- and mostly all of the constructs, beliefs, programs, thoughts that seem to underly it--for more than 2 years now and it's working. I'm kind of a walking miracle in a lot of ways considering what my scans look like and considering that most days I have no pain and few to no symptoms at all.
So what's the secret?
Well, I'm starting to figure that out enough to be able to put it into words and this Wednesday, I'm so excited to share that I am going to launch my new podcast! And Cathy Anesi and I will be sharing our experiences (she is a therapist and has watched many heal especially under her astute care over many years) and what we're coming into.
It seems basically: You need to do a lot of different things. It's a multi-pronged approach. You need a team and your team might really vary from what my team looks like. But you've got to cover the bases to heal your mind and spirit as much as your body. That's why it's hard. That's why it's a lot of trial and error, or at least just trying something you find, finding it works for a time, and finding then that it's time for another approach or remedy, and then another.
What I'm doing now is so very different from what I was doing 2 years ago (I happen to have been on steroids and using radiation and I am grateful for both.)
Lots of things and people and ideas and beliefs and trust is what keeps me healing.
And you know what else?
Softening.
Last fall I taught a masterclass about softening--into the grace that you are, and into a healed state. And I'm saying it still: You also can't push, or rush, or strong-arm healing. It takes a soft approach. An approach of lovingkindness towards your dear self, and all of your parts, and your amazing body vessel.
It takes getting quiet, and real, and gritty, and facing your demons and shadow just as much as letting the light in.
As my dear soul sister Denise taught me--the path is a spiral, not a straight neatly trimmed path.
I'll emphasize how much grit it takes: A heck of a lot.
But it also requires peace. Quiet. Introspection the likes of which I'd not experienced.
And a whole whole whole whole whole lot of love.
I can't wait to explore this more with Cathy and I'll be sharing with you so stay tuned for more!
And stay soft.
It's the only way.
The ocean knows it.
The sunset knows it.
Do YOU know it? Let it be shown to you in so many ways you won't be able to count. And then, wait to see what happens.
I love you.
